Hi BioSTEPers,
Periodically we ask BioSTEPers to complete a survey which is structured in the form of a biographical profile. From these responses, we learn about the career progress of BioSTEP participants.
Filling out the survey should take no more than 5 to 10 minutes. You can do it all now or return later to complete. Here's how:
- Logging in:
- To login enter your Last Name and the last four digits of your Social Security Number. No password is required. Please note that we do not store you full social security number in our online database.
- Problems when logging in:
- Please send us an e-mail.
- Filling in the survey form - your Profile:
- After you login, you will navigate to the actual survey form. Please fill it out!! The information you provide is your Profile. It is confidential and only used by us to prepare summary data and information about the BioSTEP program.
- Making corrections to your Profile:
- You may find that we have already entered some of the information on your Profile. Please correct any mistakes.
- Logging out:
- Once you have completed the form, you can logout and return to the BioSTEP home page.
- Updating your Profile:
- You can return anytime in the future and complete, add, correct, or otherwise change the Profile information. Just login again. You may find that we have updated some parts of your career information if it becomes known to us through other sources.
What's this all about?
The Yale BioSTEP summer research program began in 1992. We started to call the program BioSTEP (Biomedical Science Training and Enrichment Program) in 1996, so not all of you will remember us by that name. From 1992 to 1996, NIH funded ten summer student research trainees. From 1997 onward, the NIH grant suppoted 24 students per year. We now receive about 300 applications each year for these 24 positions!
We need your help in documenting what has happened to BioSTEPers. We know about many of you. Others we haven't heard from in a long time.
Some of the information you provide will be added to brief career summaries that we have published on our BioSTEP web pages for each participant since 1999. We limit these career profiles to a listing of colleges, professional schools, graduate or post-graduate institutions you attend, training programs you join, and academic appointments.
We also try to keep track of your publications when listed in PubMed or Medline.
Remember to login anytime in the future if you want to add additional information. We really do want to know how you're doing -- so keep in touch.
Thanks for your help,
BioSTEP Staff
